How much is a Dash Cam?
Prices of our Road Angel Halo Dash Cams start at £99 and can top £200, dependant on the specification of the Dash Cam you require. Our Dash Cams do not come with hard wiring kits or Micro SD Cards* as standard, and you will be required to purchase these in order to use our Dash Cams, so please bear this in mind when purchasing a Dash Cam.
*A Micro SD Card isn't required with the Halo Ultra, but you can still insert one to increase the storage memory limit.
How does a Dash Cam work?
A Dash Cam captures footage through a wide-angle lens that provides a broad view of the road. It records in real-time, creating a video file that can be saved for later viewing or used as evidence in case of accidents or other incidents.
What features do Dash Cams have?
Our Dash Cams typically come with various features, depending on the model.
Common features include:
- Loop Recording: This feature enables the Dash Cam to continuously record footage by overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full.
- G-Sensor: The G-sensor detects sudden movements or impacts and automatically saves the footage, protecting it from being overwritten.
- GPS: Some Dash Cams have built-in GPS that records the vehicle's speed and location, providing additional information in case of accidents.
- Night Vision: Dash Cams with night vision capabilities use infrared technology to capture clear footage in low-light conditions.
Why use a Dash Cam?
Dash Cams have become increasingly popular due to their numerous benefits:
- Insurance Claims: In case of accidents, Dash Cam footage can provide valuable evidence to support insurance claims and determine fault.
- Preventing Fraud: Dash Cams can help prevent insurance fraud by capturing fraudulent activities such as staged accidents or false injury claims.
- Driver Safety: Some Dash Cams have features like lane departure warnings and forward collision alerts, promoting safer driving habits.
- Monitoring Teen Drivers: Parents can use Dash Cams to monitor their teen's driving behaviour and provide feedback for improvement.
Dash Cams: In Conclusion
A Dash Cam is a valuable tool for capturing real-time footage of the road while driving. It provides a sense of security, helps with insurance claims, and promotes safer driving habits.
